How to travel to Raasay
What you really need to know to if you are going to travel to Raasay
The Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Raasay
leaves from Sconser on the Isle of Skye. The ferry runs a few times a day
during the week and twice on Sundays. Check the Calmac Website for prices and the ferry timetable.
There is a small waiting room and toilet at Sconser. If you miss the ferry have a drink at the Sconser Hotel along the road. (Sconser Lodge may be closed in the winter months Phone 01478 650 333 to check). If you have some more time, check out the 9 hole Golf Course located nearby.
Firstly - to get to Sconser
By bus: The Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness buses to Portree/Uig will all stop at the Sconser ferry on request. Contact CityLink
By train and bus: Get
the train
from either Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh (the Skye Bridge) or from Fort
William to Mallaig where there is a Calmac
ferry to Armadale in South Skye. There are infrequent local bus connections
which will take you to the Raasay ferry at Sconser. Check with Travelline

There is no public transport on Raasay and the ferry will drop you a mile from the village at Inverarish.
By yacht:
Ask a friend with a yacht to drop you off at
the jetty.
