Facilities
The island has a shop and post office, a primary school, a hotel, a day care centre for the elderly (owned by the Social Work Department of Highland Council) and two churches (one Free Presbyterian, one Free Church of Scotland).
One of the Inverarish cottages is used as a base for a nurse, as well as a surgery for the weekly visit by a Doctor from the Portree practice.
There is a grass playing field with a small area of swings and slides (owned by Highland Council).
A working group of community members under the auspices of Raasay Community Association is currently completing a new playpark next to the playing field.
Raasay House, an A Listed Building - owned by Highland and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and managed on their behalf by Skye and Lochalsh Enterprise (SALE) - is let to Raasay Outdoor Centre which provides opportunities and accommodation for outdoor education for adults and children. Raasay House is currently closed for planned refurbishment of the building.
