ISLE OF RAASAY
The Isle of Raasay forms part of the Inner Hebrides and lies between the Isle of Skye and the west coast mainland and has a population of approximately 200. It is easily accessible and serviced by a car ferry from Sconser, on the Isle of Skye. Raasay has an abundance of wildlife including eagles, deer and otters and is a popular destination for tourists to the highlands. There are good local services including a village shop and post office and a primary school and the busy town of Portree is just a short car ride from the ferry terminal at Sconser. Portree has all the facilities you would expect of a growing town and also has a large secondary school and modern medical centre and cottage hospital.
